Director of Operations Reports To: Vice President/General Manager

Micro Precision is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to oversee our manufacturing operations with a focus on efficiency, quality, and lean principles. This position will lead our production teams, implement strategic initiatives, and drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure operational excellence and meet the demands of our defense industry customers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in lean manufacturing processes, extensive leadership experience, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex programs.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of manufacturing operations including production planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles throughout the organization.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and logistics to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of goals.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor performance, track progress, and drive accountability.

Identify opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and efficiency improvements to maximize profitability.

Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement by providing leadership, training, and development opportunities.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to support operational objectives and business growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

Minimum of ten years of experience in manufacturing operations management, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry.

Proven track record of success in leading lean manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a strategic mindset.

Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management principles.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to defense manufacturing.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary $125,000 - $150,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Annual bonuses based on individual and company performance.
