Director Of Ranching Operations

What you will be doing :
Manage all custom feeding for other wagyu beef companies and offer a market for their product at the end.
Oversee all cow herd management and lead a team of very competent individuals.
Oversee rapid genetic progress through advanced reproduction (IVF embryos and AI) and data collection including all carcass data.
Measure feed efficiency on all yearlings and follow strict health and feed protocols on our primarily closed herd.
Find innovative ways to be more efficient in all aspects of the operation.
A successful candidate for this Director of Ranching Operations will possess the following :
Ability to lead as a member of a high functioning team and develop effective working relationships.
10+ years cattle management including cow-calf, backgrounding, health, and feeding.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across a broad spectrum of team members within the organization as well as outside partners, suppliers, and genetics customers.
Proficiency in the basic technology such as MS Excel and Word, familiarity with or fast study of industry platforms such as CattleMax, Vytelle Sense (formerly GrowSafe), and MIJ grading platforms.
Genetic understanding of EBV’s or EPD’s, COI, recessives, etc.
Strong work ethic with the ability to perform or oversee any ranch activity.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Knowledge and experience with financial modeling.
Have knowledge and experience with low stress cattle handling experience.
Ability to work well under pressure.Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Familiarity with Wagyu genetics, preferred.
Understanding of agricultural practices in the Flint Hills of Kansas, preferred.
Appreciation to live on the ranch, preferred.
Compensation : $150,000
