JOB TITLE: HVAC Lead Installer DEPARTMENT:

Commercial and Residential

REPORTS TO:

Department Manager / President / Company Officers

Pay Details:

$34-$40 per hour

EXPECTED SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday. Overtime as needed.

SERVICE AREA:

Throughout the San Fernando Valley and all of Los Angeles.

SUMMARY Responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of HVAC systems while managing a team of installers to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on budget, and to the highest standards. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage team operations, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead installation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Oversee and lead the installation of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, ventilation units, heat pumps, and other HVAC equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.

Assess project requirements based on job specifications and work with customers to determine their heating and cooling needs.

Utilize technical knowledge to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Ensure installations meet local and industry standards and codes.

Closely monitor project equipment, materials, and labor budgets and necessary adjustments.

Assign tasks, supervise, and mentor a team of 1 to 3 installers and apprentices, providing guidance and troubleshooting as necessary.

Coordinate logistics for installation projects, including scheduling, material procurement, and equipment maintenance.

Perform quality assurance checks to ensure all systems are functioning correctly and efficiently after installation.

Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.

Communicate effectively with clients and coworkers, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or questions.

Maintain detailed documentation of installation work performed, including but not limited to complete reports, materials used, and system specifications for follow‑ups.

Prepare reports of installation progress, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.

Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.

Support the company in maintaining customer satisfaction and fostering long‑term client relationships.

Safely operate assigned company vehicle and ensures that it is maintained according to manufacturer’s specifications.

Exhibits appearance and conduct in accordance with established company standards to present a professional image to customers and the public; maintains the highest degree of decency, honesty, and integrity as a guest in a customer’s home and/or business.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 8 years’ field experience in the installation of commercial and residential HVAC equipment, with 2 years of supervisory experience of at least three people.

Ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on mechanical plans and details.

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Ability to effectively use HVAC tools and equipment.

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation techniques, and troubleshooting practices.

Experience in leading and managing people and processes to get profit results.

Ability to motivate, manage, and train a team of HVAC technicians and/or installers.

Ability to create strategy and goals for team productivity and quality of work.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multi‑task and juggle multiple priorities.

Demonstrate attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure.

Strong conflict resolution skills.

Provide technical support for HVAC technicians and/or installers.

Reviews installer crew’s work to ensure quality meets established standards.

Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations.
