Electrical Designer Summary:

The AutoCAD designer will work with an experienced team of electrical, instrumentation & control systems engineers and designers on Midstream (Oil and Gas) projects. Typical tasks include developing and drafting electrical and instrumentation design packages for midstream facilities—designing metering stations, pump stations, LACT skids, interconnects, switchgear, motor control centers, standby and emergency power systems, and lighting.

General Responsibilities

Responsible for taking design concepts from engineers and senior designers and developing AutoCAD plan and elevation views, conduit and cable schedules, cable tray installation plans and details.

Develop one‑line diagrams, HAC plans, lighting plans, grounding plans, and loop diagrams required for the installation of pumps, compressors, valves, process skids, instrumentation, etc.

Interpret control wiring schematics from vendors and review vendor procurement documents to ensure equipment meets project requirements.

Required Education/Certifications

Microstation experience.

Formal training in AutoCAD with certification.

Proven capabilities with CADWorx and 3‑D drafting.

Associate’s diploma in CADD.

Required Experience

3+ years of design (not just drafting) experience on Midstream/Oil and Gas projects. Other industry experience is acceptable.

Physical Requirements Working at a computer for extended periods of time.
