Job Description Imagine being a part of a team that pioneers revolutionary energy systems. As a Senior Substation Design Engineer in Olsson’s Transmission and Substation team, you’ll contribute to an expansive network of substations, switching yards, and advanced electrical technology. Our mission goes beyond enhancing the grid; we are committed to upgrading and innovating electrical systems to meet the evolving energy needs of our communities.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and execution of substation projects critical to the durability and efficiency of our power infrastructure. From initial planning and feasibility studies to design and construction administration, your expertise will navigate all project phases. You will manage significant projects, engage directly with clients, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver electrical engineering solutions that ensure sustainable, high-powered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Design and engineering of substations as part of significant power delivery projects.
Manage project phases from inception to completion, including planning, conducting studies, and overseeing construction.
Serve as the Project Manager, liaising directly with clients to meet specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
Work closely with internal teams to deliver engineering solutions that uphold Olsson’s standards of quality.
Travel to project sites and participate in client meetings as necessary to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Qualifications You bring:
Strong communication skills.
Ability to contribute and work well with a team.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
At least eight years of engineering experience, with increasing responsibility.
