Assistant Chief Building Engineer – CBRE Houston, Texas, United States

Salary : $70,000.00 – $75,000.00

About the Role Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Work under limited supervision, monitoring building system operations and performance. Apply trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.

Responsibilities

Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.

Perform contracted work which includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning.

Review assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete repair, and procure materials and supplies.

Maintain an energy management program to operate all systems efficiently and keep operating costs at a minimum; maintain building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training.

Universal CFC certification preferred. Additional certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair, and certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions.

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions and memos, ask clarifying questions, and efficiently present information to departments and large groups of employees.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs or more.
