Job Description Summary
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) partners with teams across the company to translate evolving business needs into clear, scalable technology solutions. The BSA works closely with stakeholders and technology teams to define requirements, streamline processes and support key initiatives. By aligning people, workflows and technical platforms, this role reinforces operational stability and enables consistent project execution.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to elicit, document, and prioritize clear business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new systems or enhancements
Analyze existing processes, workflows and data structures to identify opportunities for improvement, standardization and automation
Create process maps, data flow diagrams, wireframes and other documentation to support solution design and ensure shared understanding
Lead workshops, interviews and working sessions to capture user needs, pain points and future‑state objectives
Create test plans to guide user acceptance testing (UAT), including developing test cases, coordinating execution and tracking results
Participate with IT developers in testing changes and implementations to ensure functionality
Conduct gap analyses between current and future state processes and recommend automation opportunities
Troubleshoot, analyze and identify root issue causes
Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring that proposed solutions align with business objectives and are feasible within technical constraints
Identify and resolve project issues or risks, escalating where necessary to ensure timely decision‑making and issue resolution
Lead change management activities such as creating training materials, conducting user training sessions and supporting go‑live support
Maintain up‑to‑date documentation in Confluence, SharePoint or similar platforms to ensure traceability and easy access by all project stakeholders
Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis standards, tools and practices
Foster strong working relationships with diverse corporate functions such as Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Business Development and IT
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or related field
5–7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst or similar role in a technology‑focused organization
Strong knowledge of enterprise business processes
5+ years of experience with SQL preferred
Strong understanding of business process modeling (BPMN), data modeling, APIs and system integration
Experience documenting clear business requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria
Familiarity with systems integrations and data flows across multiple platforms
Experience with low‑code/no‑code development platforms preferred
Understanding of basic relational database concepts
Proficient in process mapping and wireframing tools such as Lucid, Visio and Figma
Hands‑on experience with enterprise task & requirements management tools like Jira, Confluence and Smartsheet
Strong organizational and project coordination skills, able to support multiple simultaneous initiatives
Demonstrated experience working closely with technical teams, end users and diverse business stakeholders
Ability to identify, elevate and facilitate resolution of issues and risks in a structured manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences
Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint
Naturally inquisitive, energetic and solutions‑focused
