Phlebotomist - Floater Synectics Inc. seeks a Phlebotomist – Floater to perform patient blood collections in varying locations within Chicago.

Responsibilities

Represent the company to patients during routine and life‑defining health decisions.

Draw quality blood samples and prep specimens for lab testing following established practices.

Maintain a patient‑friendly environment, explaining procedures and building trust.

Show Leadership Behaviors, focus on process excellence and protect patient confidentiality.

Assigned to doctor’s office, patient service center or based on business needs.

Perform daily activities accurately, timely and under area supervisor direction.

Keep environment safe and professional; handle both forensic and clinical specimen collection.

Verify patient demographics and obtain patient signature post‑venipuncture; confirm tube labeling.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Job Requirements

Provide quality work in a fast‑paced environment.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Make decisions based on procedures and exercise good judgment.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, clean driving record when applicable.

Travel and flexible hours required; cover multiple patient service center locations on short notice.

Handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.

Demonstrate superior customer focus; communicate transparently with peers, supervisors and patients.

Training locations may vary by availability.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Three years of phlebotomy experience (pediatric, geriatric, capillary collections) required.

Minimum 2 years in a patient service center preferred.

Customer service in retail/service preferred; keyboard/data entry experience.

Work schedule: Monday‑Sunday various weekdays off; earliest 6am, latest 8pm or last patient served; floats may travel across the manager’s territory in Chicago.

Vision Insurance: Synectics offers eligible employees vision insurance through VSP. Eligibility begins on the 1st day of the calendar month following 60 days of continuous full‑time employment with Synectics.

401(k) Plan: The Synectics Inc. Investment Savings Retirement Plan. Synectics offers all employees who are 21 years of age or older the opportunity to invest in the 401(k) Plan on the first enrollment date that is at least 30 days after employment begins. Enrollment dates are each January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
