BlueStar Resort & Golf – Central Services Main Office
BlueStar is a boutique management firm focused on supporting developers, asset managers, and community Boards in the successful operation of their resort and golf amenities. Our expertise is in all aspects of hospitality management, including golf, spa, food & beverage, community clubs, and more, particularly in active adult or age-qualified residential communities. We also provide full-scale landscape services in some locations. Our portfolio spans literally from coast to coast, with many beautiful locations in between.

Benefits:
New management full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following the first day of full-time employment.
Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.
Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Manager, Accounting @ Central Services is responsible for managing the accounting function of BlueStar Resort & Golf. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
Manage BSRG accounting operations.
Create effective communication with team members to maintain a smooth, informed, and consistent atmosphere with regards to office functions.
Provide recruitment, supervisory, and managerial duties in accordance with BSRG policies; hold team members accountable to assigned responsibilities.
Provide leadership to field teams by collaborating and advising on important accounting, audit, and procedural matters related to job costing and other aspects of accounting.
Daily interaction with clients with high degree of service friendliness.
Administer and monitor the annual budget to ensure expenses are within budgetary limits and the established financial goals.
Answer vendor inquiries and research account payable discrepancies.
Create and review budgets for accuracy with managers.
Maintain fixed asset schedule, daily treasury functions, daily financial activity functions and reconciliation, and client billing and collection.
Develop analytical reports for distribution to senior management.
Maintain accurate financial data for Golf and Club accounting as assigned.
Prepare sales tax returns and process credit applications.
Manage and maintain general ledger accounts.
Verify and post details of business transactions to various accounts.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
Minimum of five years’ experience in general ledger accounting, with majority in accounting and financial leadership/supervisory positions required.
Prior hospitality experience preferred.
Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Quick Books and JD Edwards accounting software is highly desirable.
Understanding of GAAP guidelines (general accepted accounting principles) as they apply to the position.
Ability to understand financial analysis.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must possess basic computational ability as well as budgetary analysis.
Must have planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills.
Must have strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent customer services skills and an ability to respond to the needs and requests of coworkers and clients.
Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional indoor office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
