A leading consulting engineering firm specializing in complex building envelope and structural restoration is looking for a motivated engineer with 2-3 years of experience to join our growing team.
Location: Columbia, Maryland Job Type: Permanent Salary: $105,000 - $125,000 per year Work Hours: 8am to 5pm Education Required: Bachelors
Responsibilities
Support the design and detailing of building envelope systems, including roofing, façades, curtain walls, glazing, and waterproofing assemblies.
Prepare engineering drawings, design calculations, and technical specifications.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and diagnostic testing related to air/water infiltration, thermal performance, and material integrity.
Assist in developing repair and remediation recommendations based on test results and field observations.
Review submittals, shop drawings, and product data for compliance with design intent.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure constructability and system performance.
Support construction administration, field reporting, and quality assurance reviews.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
Participate in project scheduling, cost estimating, and procurement of materials and testing equipment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering.
2-6 years of relevant experience in building envelope, façade, or structural engineering.
Familiarity with building science concepts, materials, and envelope performance.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and analysis software (THERM, WUFI, or similar a plus).
Great written and verbal communication skills.
EIT certification; PE license or progress toward licensure preferred.
