The Studio Research team at The Walt Disney Studios oversees global audience insights that impact the creative and strategic decisions of our marketing, distribution, and production teams.
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Studio Research team. This position will work closely with a Sr Manager on the Studio Research team, handling the day-to-day management of research projects conducted for Disney+ streaming releases and Post-Theatrical distribution of our movies, including electronic sell-through and VOD offerings. Several of these research studies will be global and this role will have varying degrees of supervision, autonomy, and responsibility. Key strengths for this position come from experience with strong written analysis, communication skills, and technical skills to analyze data sets across multiple sources.
This role will report to the Sr Manager, Research and is located in Burbank, California.
Responsibilities
Assist with quantitative and qualitative research projects from inception to completion, including project management, data collection, preparation, extraction, analysis, and report development. Assist with questionnaire design, survey link checking, tabulation planning, and data processing. Implement quality assurance processes and support the team to ensure completion within established timeframes. Assist in managing weekly content tracking studies across various countries. Articulate research insights to other divisions verbally and in written correspondence. Work with the Sr Manager to ensure every deliverable is strategically actionable and drives key decision‑making. Synthesize primary, secondary, and on‑platform research to inform product and marketing decisions. Respond to time‑sensitive data requests from internal clients. Build and maintain relationships with research counterparts from other divisions of The Walt Disney Company and external vendors. Stay at the forefront of SVOD industry and general entertainment trends in a rapidly changing landscape. Stay abreast of current trends and new techniques in the field of market research. Basic Qualifications
3+ years of quantitative market research experience—either supplier‑side, client‑side, or a combination—incl. project management. Experience working with SPSS, Survey Reporter, Decipher, or other cross‑tabbing tools. Proficiency with MS Excel—capable of quickly producing summary tables, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/index functions, and visualizations with various data types. Strong analytical reasoning and quantitative skills. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and constant change. Confident communicator with strong social, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues in an organized way. Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives. Adaptable, quick learner and a strong, proactive work ethic. Preferred Qualifications
Entertainment market research experience—SVOD, streaming, or home entertainment research a plus. Strong project and vendor management skills. Experience working with consumer panels or community platforms (e.g., branded communities). Knowledge of data visualization software. Passionate consumer of content for the Walt Disney Company’s brands and franchises (Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Disney, 20th Century). Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communications Studies, Market Research, Sociology, Business, Marketing, or a related field. The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $95,500.00 to $128,000.00 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
