About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Director of Operations to partner with firm leadership and elevate the firm’s structure and performance. This role is hands-on and strategic, ideal for a business-minded professional who understands the value of strong systems, reliable reporting, and streamlined operations. From financial oversight to workflow optimization, you will play a key part in shaping how the firm grows and delivers exceptional legal service.
What You’ll Do
Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AR/AP, payroll, billing, budgeting, and trust (IOLTA) reconciliation
Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and key performance metrics
Implement systems, SOPs, and operational policies that support consistency and scalability
Evaluate and manage case management and accounting tools such as Clio and QuickBooks
Collaborate with leadership to align operations with the firm’s long-term goals
Monitor cash flow, collections, and expense control
Develop and maintain operational dashboards and firm productivity reports
Lead and mentor administrative and operations team members
Drive technology adoption and process improvements across the firm
About You You’re an organized, analytical leader who enjoys blending strategy with execution. You bring a sharp business sense, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach to operational management. You’re comfortable speaking both the language of numbers and the needs of people.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (CPA, MBA, or related credential preferred)
At least five years of accounting and operations experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting
Hands‑on experience with trust accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting
Familiarity with legal billing software and accounting tools like Clio and QuickBooks
Strong ability to build and refine SOPs to support growth and efficiency
Confident communicator and team leader with a high level of professionalism
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of trust accounting rules and legal billing ethics
Experience leading tech or process integrations
Involvement in legal operations or legal administrator groups is a plus
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience
Sign‑on bonus (50% paid upon start, 50% after 90 days; prorated repayment required if employment ends within 12 months)
