Position Overview The University of Virginia School of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism (Department of Medicine), seeks candidates to fill an Assistant Professor of Medicine position on the Tenure-Ineligible Clinical Faculty Track. The successful candidate will provide clinical care for various endocrine disorders, including bone, mineral, diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, gonadal, and pituitary. Care will be provided primarily at our UVA Endocrinology/Diabetes and local UVA outreach clinics. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to medical education and a commitment to scholarship/ quality improvement.

Division Overview The Divis ion of Endocrinology and Metabolism is a collegial and collaborative team with a rich and long-standing tradition of excellence in research, patient care, and education. The Division currently has 32 faculty members (six full professors, eight associate professors, nine assistant professors, eleven nurse practitioners, and nine emeritus professors) and six endocrine fellows. The Division includes current and previous leaders in national professional societies, including three former presidents of the Endocrine Society, a former president of the American Diabetes Association, a former president of the Pituitary Society, and a former president of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research. Our faculty members strive to provide the best possible care to patients with various hormonal and metabolic disorders, the best training for the next generation of physicians and scientists, and make cutting‑edge scientific discoveries in clinical and basic endocrine research.

Location The University of Virginia is in Charlottesville, a cultured, cosmopolitan community with a charming, small‑town feel. Charlottesville offers a thriving arts community and is equally attractive to foodies, music fans, history buffs, and outdoor enthusiasts.
