Acutronic is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that enable the successful transition from rapid prototyping and low-rate production to full-rate aerospace manufacturing. Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, or engineering industries. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with cross‑functional teams to drive efficiency and contribute to strategic operations in a fast‑paced, R&D‑intensive environment.
Supply Chain Manager Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support prototyping, new product introduction, and transition to full-rate production.
Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers.
Ensure supplier compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and other aerospace regulations.
Establish and monitor supplier KPI's for quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
Work closely with Engineering to ensure design for manufacturability.
Lead tactical and strategic purchasing activities including RFQ, negotiation, and PO placement.
Manage backlog and expedite critical orders to ensure minimal disruption to R&D and production schedules.
Oversee inventory planning, accuracy, and optimization to support manufacturing while minimizing obsolescence risk.
Implement kitting strategies and material staging for efficient build execution.
Drive supplier onboarding and part qualification processes, including FAI's.
Maintain accurate data in ERP system, such as cost, lead‑time and supplier records.
Support BOM accuracy, planning parameters, and demand forecasting.
Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with aerospace and defense standards including flow‑down of contract and quality requirements.
Maintain complete records for audits and internal controls.
Identify and execute cost savings opportunities across the supply chain.
Support program cost estimating and provide costed BOMs during bid/proposal phase.
Implement methodologies and strategies to reduce total material costs.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university, preferred.
At least five years of related aerospace, defense, or engineering industry experience, preferred.
Experience with Government Contract flow downs including DFARS, FAR, and DPAS, preferred.
Prior experience with ERP systems.
Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100, preferred.
