Chief Accountant | Entry Level

This entry level, hourly management position will be responsible for the oversight of all accounting processes at the hotel, with main focuses on AR Aging, AP Scanning and Allocating, and General Reconciliation. The Chief Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with regulations, and the timely preparation of financial reports and monthly journal entries.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and summaries.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Coordinate with external auditors during audits.

Team Leadership:

Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Internal Controls:

Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems. Implement best practices for efficiency and effectiveness.

Financial Analysis:

Conduct financial analysis to support business decision‑making. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Labor Productivity:

Conduct weekly reviews of adherence to labor standards, including accuracy verification of reported business levels.

Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.

Skills:

A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.

Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle preferred) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

High level of integrity and attention to detail.
