What You’ll Do

The BSA/AML Case Analyst is responsible for conducting and dispositioning mid-risk and continuation case investigations using a risk-based approach within Verafin, performing detailed research and documentation to determine whether activity can be mitigated or requires a SAR filing. This role includes writing SARs, escalating high-risk cases to leadership, and ensuring thorough record retention for audits and regulatory reviews.

Core Contributions

Perform mid-risk case and continuation investigations and manual referral analysis using a risk-based approach within Verafin. Conduct in-depth research using internet and database searches, negative media reviews, and internal system queries to gather and evaluate supporting documentation. Determine whether activity can be mitigated or requires a SAR filing. Ensure all findings and documentation are properly saved for record retention and to support potential requests from law enforcement, regulatory exams, or internal audits. Determine whether to categorize identified activity as “suspicious.” If activity is deemed suspicious, and it presents a high enough BSA/AML risk, provide recommendation to management as to whether the activity should be referred to law enforcement or if maintaining the member’s relationship should be considered. Coordinate with other business lines such as Retail Banking, Business Banking, Fraud, Legal, Regulatory Compliance, etc. as needed, to disposition a case. Send requests for information (RFIs) to Retail Banking as necessary to help substantiate activity. Write SARs and Continuing Activity SARs within Verafin for submission to FinCEN. Identify and escalate any high-risk cases (i.e. terrorism, human trafficking, negative media, employee transactional concerns, etc.) to the immediate attention of the BSA/AML Compliance Officer or Assistant Manager BSA/AML High Risk Operations. Review and respond to

314(b) information-sharing requests

in accordance with FinCEN guidelines, including evaluating the legitimacy of the request and ensuring proper documentation of all shared information. Monitor and review

314(a) alert matches

identified in Verafin, validate potential matches, and report confirmed matches to

FinCEN

within required timeframes. Maintain thorough records of all actions taken for audit and regulatory review. Provide expertise and training to more junior Specialists, Analysts and/or contractors as needed. Monitor regulatory changes related to the BSA program and participate in ongoing training to stay current in BSA/AML industry trends and legislation. Assists the BSA/AML Compliance Officer in ensuring FourLeaf takes necessary actions to comply with all requirements and to reduce FourLeaf’s exposure to lawsuits, penalties, adverse publicity, and other risks. Perform other duties or projects as assigned by management related to the BSA/AML program and compliance functions. Assets You Will Bring

Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience. 3-5 Years of experience working in a relevant field (i.e. BSA/AML, law enforcement, fraud, forensic accounting, or financial crime compliance) required. At least 1 year of previous SAR writing experience, required. CAMS or qualified to apply and obtain CAMS certification within 6 months. Verafin and Fiserv DNA experience (a plus, not required). The estimated salary for this role is $31.17 - $37.40 per hour.
