GC&E Federal is seeking a System Administrator. The candidate for this position will work within our team to support our government Information Technology (IT) program with our Dugway Proving Ground client. As a System Administrator you will ensure successful operations are completed and maintenance of the Information and Infrastructure systems for Dugway Proving Ground

and all remote sites.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

Maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems. Administers, installs, and troubleshoots a variety of operating systems. Schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades. Configures software and resolves technical problems. Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements. Contributes to complex aspects of a project and assignments. Responsible for planning and coordination of the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all IT hardware and software system under NEC control such as virtual server management, Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) compliance, and patch management; and managing systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability; thereby ensuring system availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency. Responsible for planning, coordination, modification, implementation, and troubleshooting to support Dugway customers' needs. Operations, maintenance, and support of servers with client-based computers located throughout the installation. Provides support and testing for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) development, maintenance, modification, troubleshooting and configuration management.

Additionally:

Perform all Server and System Administration tasks as required based on the most current version of the AITP. DPG is currently using v13. The AITP gets updated approximately once per year. Services will be required on both NIPRNET and SIPRNET systems to include Servers, Laptops and VDI's. Operate and maintain classified and unclassified Installation Organizational Unit (Group Policy, Active Directory). Administer the OS in virtual or physical production platforms and current applications, hardware devices, database, and specialized software integration. Provide technical support and STIG implementation for MFDs, printers, scanners, and other computer peripherals. Provide completed checklist files with zero (0) open findings or POA&M outlining the actions to follow. Ensure that servers meet mission critical and disaster recovery requirements by following the NEC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and perform systems administration (SA) tasks on a variety of OS including Windows Servers, Linux, and Solaris. Perform, system administration tasks including security, software updates, OS fixes and patches, and IAVAs compliance, by following NEC SOP's, and identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities and risks. Respond to system failures caused by software and hardware deficiencies by initiating corrective action to recover/restore data and return system back to normal operations; perform diagnostic testing and using various analysis techniques on classified and unclassified systems; isolate the source of problems; resolve hardware problems which may require replacing internal parts of servers (e.g., mother boards, hard drives, etc.), and troubleshoot and solve various problems concerning production and development of various OS platforms. Coordinate the backup and restoration of production systems. Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks concerning anti-virus software, programs, and applications. Design and administer scripting techniques using PowerShell. Understand, follow, and enforce security procedures to guard against unauthorized intrusion into application, unauthorized updates, and copying or destruction of the data. Maintain Enterprise MECM system, including but not limited to logging into the Administration Console via MECM console, creating and maintaining device collections, creating, editing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Task Sequences for configuration changes, software installs, and Operating System Deployment (OSD) or imaging. Deploy packages, applications, and Task Sequences to computers and collections, using both "Available" and "Required" settings, schedule installation deadlines outside of or during business hours, create queries, reports, and status message queries, troubleshoot issues with content distribution, client connectivity and functionality issues, and perform maintenance actions on the MECM configuration on a regular basis as required. Perform systems administration (SA) tasks on a variety of Operating Systems including Windows Server Linux, Windows 11, and Solaris. Tasks include security updates, OS fixes and patches, IAVA compliance, SSP (Systems Security Plan) documentation, and identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks associated with these OS's. Monitor and maintain appropriate Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls and ensure Operational Security requirements are in accordance with the performance standards established in the AITP Services List (latest version) for all assigned servers and workstations on both NIPRNET and SIPRNET. Ensure installed software has proper documentation/licensing prior to installation onto server by following DPG-NEC software approval process. This equates to a total of approximately 1920 man-hours required per year historically. Resolve 95% of tickets submitted within the calendar month. Any tickets remaining open shall have details in the notes section of the ticket on why it cannot be completed and provided to the COR. Historically this is approximately 50 tickets per month. Full-time Experience:

Minimum three (3) years of related experience with Rubrik, VMWare and server administration (e.g., MS Windows Server, Windows SUP/DNS/DHCP servers, Print servers, Linux, IIS, etc.) and Network Management protocols/services, (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, UDP, NAT, etc.) MECM and SCOM product suite, PS Exec, PowerShell, and Microsoft SQL Server. Customer service skills required; always project a positive image and professional manner; ability to work within the confines of a set time schedule. Should have subject matter expertise in configuring and managing Windows Server on-premises, hybrid, and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform workload. Should have expertise in implementing and managing on-premises and hybrid solutions, such as identity, management, compute, networking, and storage. They are also experts at performing tasks related to security, migration, monitoring, high availability, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. These professionals use administrative tools and technologies, including Windows Admin Center, PowerShell, Azure Arc, and IaaS virtual machine administration. They also work with Azure Automation Update Management, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Azure Security Center, Azure Migrate, and Azure Monitor. Knowledge and experience communicating Enterprise Systems concepts to technical and non- technical personnel; ability to develop technical documents and produce system design documentation. Possess a fundamental understanding of and experience with Cyber Security principles, especially as relates to securing IT systems, inspecting IT systems for vulnerabilities, and responding to cyber threats or incidents. SECRET Clearance CompTIA Certification (Security+) Must have appropriate/required certifications and clearances as outlined in DoD Cyber Workforce series (i.e., DoD Directive 8140.01, DoD Instruction 8140.02, and DoD Manual 8140.03). at contract start date.
