This U.S.-based organization designs and manufactures precision-engineered mechanical and electro-mechanical products used in commercial, industrial, and architectural applications. The Monroe, NC facility serves as the North American Center of Excellence for their product line - a well-established, growing operation with a strong culture of teamwork, safety, and quality.

Position Overview We are seeking a Quality Engineering Manager with a strong drive for continuous improvement and leadership in total quality management.

This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all plant quality initiatives, leading a skilled team and partnering cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to uphold product integrity and compliance standards.

The Quality Engineering Manager will report directly to the General Manager and play a key role in driving ISO certification, Lean initiatives, and process excellence across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the Quality Team; establish clear goals, KPIs, and accountability standards. Utilize statistical and analytical tools (SPC, root-cause analysis, run charts, etc.) to identify and resolve quality issues. Provide quality assurance support for new product launches, engineering changes, and technology implementations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and theory-of-constraints principles. Maintain and advance the plant's ISO-certified quality management system, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. Manage product testing and evaluation for compliance with industry safety and performance standards (e.g., UL, CE, BHMA). Collaborate with engineering to analyze part tolerances, recommend design enhancements, and ensure manufacturability. Generate and implement quality improvement ideas; lead cross-functional problem-solving events. Develop and maintain documentation such as control plans, work instructions, and inspection standards. Promote a strong safety and quality culture across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related technical field required. Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environments with emphasis on Quality Management and ISO systems. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and/or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred. Strong knowledge of SPC, FMEA, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools. Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable using data-driven quality systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to influence across teams and levels. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Passion for driving results and improving systems through teamwork and accountability.
