Eckerd College is currently seeking candidates for the position of Eckerd College Emergency Response Team (EC-ERT) Coordinator at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. This is a unique opportunity to lead and support a vital campus emergency response unit dedicated to providing top-quality medical and disaster assistance.
As the EC-ERT Coordinator, you will oversee all operational, training, and administrative functions of the Eckerd College Emergency Response Team. This team of trained student volunteers provides critical medical and disaster response services on campus. You'll collaborate closely with student leaders, Campus Safety, local agencies, and medical professionals to ensure a robust and responsive emergency program.
The role requires the incumbent to frequently move around campus, both indoors and outdoors, and access multiple levels of buildings. The ability to identify issues, determine their cause, develop creative solutions, and follow through with implementing resolutions. The incumbent should possess knowledge, training, and demonstrated ability in incident command.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. The EC-ERT Coordinator is an active, hands-on role with frequent physical tasks, outdoor work, and a 24/7 on-call rotation. Regular after-hours work is required.

Coordinate and lead EC-ERT operations and training Develop and maintain standard operating procedures aligned with EMT standards Supervise compliance, review incident reports, and provide feedback for improvement Serve as liaison to medical professionals and emergency responders Provide CPR/AED and emergency response training to the campus community Support recruiting, promotion, and engagement efforts Assist in campus-wide safety operations during emergencies Manage EC-ERT budget and resources Qualifications
Associate Degree and previous EMT experience required. Current EMT certification required. At least 21 years of age and possess a valid motor vehicle license. Must have completed FEMA IS 100C and IS 700B courses or be able to complete within 90 days. Must have CPR/AED instructor certification or be willing to obtain within 90 days.
