The Modern Desktop Engineer will design, maintain, and optimize the master desktop image used across our enterprise. This role ensures a secure, efficient, and standardized desktop environment by developing and managing images, automating deployment, integrating essential applications, and configuring security baselines. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in enterprise image management, configuration management, and endpoint security across physical and virtual platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Gold Image Lifecycle Management : Develop, maintain, and optimize Windows desktop gold images. Integrate drivers, core applications, and security baselines. Automate image deployment using modern tools and scripting.
Endpoint Management & Intune Expertise : Administer Microsoft Intune, including Autopilot, Enrollment Status Page (ESP), deployment profiles, and configuration policies. Ensure seamless onboarding and policy enforcement across devices.
Citrix VDI Support : Collaborate with various teams to support Citrix virtual desktop environments. Ensure image compatibility and performance across VDI platforms.
Compliance & Performance Reporting : Monitor and report on key service metrics including device compliance, patch status, and performance indicators. Create dashboards and visual aids to communicate trends and insights.
Security & Best Practices : Implement endpoint security standards and ensure alignment with regulatory and internal compliance requirements. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
Professional Skills & Attributes: Exceptional customer service skills with a problem-solving attitude. Ability to troubleshoot a large variety of technical issues. Maintain clear documentation of processes and configurations.
Qualifications
Associates, Bachelors, Masters degree preferred; relevant certifications (MD-102, Citrix, etc.) a plus. 5+ years of experience in desktop engineering or endpoint management in an enterprise environment. Strong expertise in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, ESP, and Windows image creation. Experience with Citrix VDI environments and image optimization for virtual platforms. Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell preferred) and automation tools. Solid understanding of networking principles and enterprise application support. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Effective communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, independent problem-solving and decision-making, self-direction, and ability to manage a complex workload. Demonstrable ability to maintain a team-oriented, professional, and cooperative attitude at all times.
The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $130,000.00. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
