Job Description: Serve as the primary contact for professional schools and students participating in clinical rotations. Maintain a current list of physicians and advanced practice providers willing to serve as preceptors. Assist with matching students to appropriate preceptors, balancing student needs, preceptor availability, and organizational priorities. Track and document requirements for clinical rotations (e.g., immunizations, malpractice insurance, HR documentation, and agreements with schools). Provide onboarding for students, including orientation, IT training, access badges, housing (if applicable), and other resources. Assist in obtaining evaluations and feedback from preceptors and schools. Provide ongoing reports of student participation to Residency Programs, Provider Recruitment, and Administration for future recruitment efforts. Support the Residency Program Coordinator and Chief Medical Officer with projects as assigned. Volunteer Coordination:
Recruit, screen, orient, and place volunteers across hospital departments in alignment with hospital needs. Develop and maintain volunteer schedules in collaboration with department leaders. Communicate regularly with volunteers through newsletters, calls, meetings, and recognition activities. Create and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition. Serve as a resource and support to volunteers, ensuring positive engagement and mission alignment. Work with hospital leadership to identify new areas where volunteer services could enhance patient care and organizational effectiveness. Monitor and track volunteer service hours and maintain accurate records. Assist with budget planning and financial oversight for volunteer services, including tracking expenses, monitoring program costs, and ensuring responsible use of resources. Promote the mission, philosophy, and core values of Deaconess Memorial Medical Center through the engagement of volunteers. Support Memorial Medical Center Foundation team with projects as needed. Education & Experience
Associate's or Bachelor's degree recommended; background in education, healthcare, or program coordination preferred. Experience in program or volunteer coordination strongly preferred. Previous personal volunteer experience is beneficial. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with students, schools, volunteers, and hospital staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities. Skilled in data entry, scheduling, and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and web-based applications. Ability to resolve challenges creatively and with sensitivity. Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable in a dynamic healthcare environment. Must demonstrate compassion, confidentiality, flexibility, and respect in working with diverse groups of people.
