Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

HVAC Sheet Metal Estimator

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical drawings and specifications, and be highly skilled in ductwork takeoffs. Experience using estimation software such as

FastEST ,

QuoteSoft , or similar platforms is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret HVAC plans, specifications, and drawings.

Perform accurate takeoffs of sheet metal ductwork and related components.

Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, material, and equipment pricing.

Work with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify scope and project needs.

Create and maintain organized bid packages and proposal documentation.

Review addendums and ensure all updates are reflected in the estimate.

Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.

Provide value engineering suggestions and cost-saving alternatives.

Track bid results and provide feedback for future improvement.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC sheet metal estimating.

Strong knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems and ductwork.

Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications.

Experience with estimating software such as

FastEST ,

QuoteSoft , or equivalent.

Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and time-management abilities.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other common office software.

Qualifications:

Prior field experience in HVAC or sheet metal installation.

Familiarity with local building codes and industry standards.

Experience with BIM/AutoCAD is a plus.
