Description This position is responsible for supporting the engineering, implementation, tuning, maintenance, and allocation management of enterprise storage infrastructure for all of our clients operating system platforms. They will do NAS, Tier 1, Tier 2 support and recovery structure. One will focus more on backup and cyber where they will be utilizing AI in some cyber implementation, scripting is as needed, and the other will be more focused on Tier 1 storage/NAS. Need experience with Dell hardware and NetBackup. They use Remedy for problem/change management tool. Within the group they use Dell products: PowerMax, NetBackup, for NAS they use PowerScale, use Brocade for SAN switches, use PPDM, and use Data Mains. Cyber recovery vault from Dell. Cyber is very important and will be continued to build out and test. Needs experience with Cyber Recovery.

Primary responsibilities

Install, configure, administrate, manage, maintain, and track the software and hardware associated with the SCS Enterprise Storage environment.

Participate in the on‑call rotation.

Provide second‑level support to other areas both within and outside of Technology.

Follow standard processes for capacity allocation, hardware, software and project completion, problem resolution and change management.

Diagnose and resolve problems to meet service level expectations.

Perform recovery of data due to disaster, hardware failure, or cyber event.

Communicate progress, problems and best practices to management, peers, and teammates.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience is desired.

Administration of Storage Area Network (SAN) environments.

Administration of Network Attached Storage (NAS) environments.

Capacity planning for storage and backup.

Reporting of Storage performance, availability, and integrity.

Ensuring that storage requests are completed in a timely manner.

Analyzing performance of storage infrastructure; ensuring storage systems availability and data integrity.

Familiarity with the administration of:

Brocade Storage Area Network Switch equipment

SAN Monitoring tools including SANNAV and APTARE

EMC VMAX/PowerMax storage subsystems for Open Systems

EMC PowerStore storage subsystems for Open Systems

EMC PowerScale (Isilon) NAS storage subsystems

EMC PowerProtect Data Manager

EMC Data Domain de‑dupe appliances

VERITAS NetBackup and NetBackup appliances

General knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms, and network components (operating systems, clusters, containers, and networks).

Basic knowledge of scripting.

Basic knowledge of security policies.

Basic knowledge of data replication technologies.

General knowledge of Southern Company's core business.

General knowledge of Technology infrastructure components.

Ability to quickly learn new storage technology concepts and transition knowledge & skillsets to new situations.

Ability to effectively organize tasks, manage multiple priorities/details, meet schedules, and deliver on customer commitments.

Ability to negotiate with and influence others – internally, as well as vendors.

Ability to build relationships and work in a team atmosphere.

Ability to provide and accept feedback.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $56.00 - $57.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
