Life Safety / Fire Protection Engineer (EIT/PE)
This role is based in Portland, OR and requires a Professional Engineer license or Engineer‑In‑Training certification. The position is a 12+ month contract with a 40+ hour work week, hybrid available.
Compensation: $48.00–$75.00 per hour.

Assignment Duration: 12 months+

Responsibilities
Provide code‑compliant life safety and fire protection mitigation solutions for assets.
Collaborate with senior design professionals and take ownership as engineer of record.
Design fire sprinklers, gaseous agents, fire detection, toxic gas detection, smoke modeling, and explosion prevention systems.
Interface with clients and local/state code officials in the design of facilities.
Use AutoCAD/Revit MEP to design fire sprinkler, alarm, smoke/leak detection, security, and intrusion detection systems.
Perform calculations, equipment sizing, specifications, network diagrams, and deliverables in 2D/3D platforms.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Engineer‑In‑Training certification or Professional Engineer license.
4+ years AutoCAD design experience.
Design experience with Fire Alarm, VESDA, security CCTV, HPM and leak detection.
Knowledge of IFC, IBC, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 72 Fire Alarm Code, and NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code.
Experience estimating and scheduling mid‑to‑large‑scale projects.
