About the Role CLP Engineering is seeking a SCADA Engineer IV to join the team of Engineering Professionals. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen. CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years of experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance, and operations.

Responsibilities

Configure, program, and deploy SCADA hardware and software components, including HMIs, RTUs, PLCs, and communication protocols.

Ensure SCADA systems adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures for SCADA systems.

Diagnose and resolve SCADA system malfunctions and software bugs, perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups.

Analyze real‑time and historical data to identify trends and potential issues.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of SCADA system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.

Provide lifecycle engineering for the systems from concept, performance specifications, implementation and integration.

Collaborate with engineering team members to enhance understanding of SCADA systems and troubleshooting capabilities.

Maintain intermediate knowledge of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems.

Act as main point of contact for projects and facilitate design/review processes.

Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited program.

Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a SCADA/Automation/ADMS Engineer or similar role, including two (2) years with substation/power system distribution SCADA systems.

Proficiency with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Survalent, SEL, OSI).

PE license is a plus.

Strong knowledge of industrial automation protocols (Modbus, OPC, DNP3).

Familiarity with PLC/RTU programming and configuration.

Understanding of network design and cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems.

Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers, senior leadership, and junior team members.

Knowledge of industry‑specific regulations and standards is a plus.

Travel

Travel between job sites with 25% overnight travel expected.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

Must be a US Citizen.

Required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.

Valid driver’s license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $130,000 – $155,000 based on experience, plus eligible for participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.

Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, and paid holidays.
