Graduate Program Coordinator, Department of Economics - Georgetown University Georgetown University comprises two unique campuses in the nation's capital. Responsibilities

Serving as the main point-of-contact for PhD program inquiries, both internally and externally.

Preparing admissions files for review, maintaining records of all applications and admission decisions, and processing such decisions in Slate, the University's admissions systems.

Assisting the DGS in organizing events for the department and graduate program, including GCER-supported conferences, student recruiting, new student orientations, and career networking.

Supporting faculty members in the delivery of comprehensive exams and dissertation defenses, and in monitoring students' progress to degree.

Supporting the PhD job placement director.

Maintaining the PhD program and GCER webpages within the department website.

Creating and maintaining the annual budget for the PhD program.

Processing credit card transactions associated with the PhD program and GCER events.

Assisting with general office duties, as needed.

Work Interactions The Graduate Program Coordinator interacts closely with the faculty, staff, and PhD students within the department. Interaction among campus departments includes the Registrar, OGS, UIS, Special Events, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Graduate School Offices of Academic Affairs, Admissions and Financial Aid. The GPC reports directly to the Department Business Manager, and works closely with the Chair, Vice Chair and DGS.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum 3-4 years of experience in student- or faculty-oriented service in a higher educational environment.

Excellent organizational skills, combined with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize work with a focused attention to detail.

Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, and a desire to learn and use new skills in a dynamic work environment.

High level of aptitude with the Google and Microsoft Office suites, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications

Prior experience in a diverse, high intensity academic environment.

Proficient with Workday, Box and web editing tools (WordPress).

Experience with event management.

Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as On-Campus.

Pay Range Projected hourly pay range: $28.00 - $32.00.
