Credit Officer Role Description The Credit Officer role requires a comprehensive skill set to effectively execute broad risk management responsibilities within Corporate & Financial Institutions Credit Risk. Some of the responsibilities include: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Global Banking & Markets product spectrum; Responsible for driving speed to market and asset quality; Manages (primary account responsibility) a complex portfolio of Large Corporate / Financial Institutions clients within the bank's risk appetite and risk strategies; Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the portfolio at the client, industry, and macro level in order to assess risk and craft value added solutions that balance risk and return; Independently assess the credit worthiness , including due diligence of prospective borrowers and/or trading counterparties and establish appropriate terms and conditions to mitigate risk; Manage a complex portfolio of clients via actively monitoring the portfolio including changes in credit profile and compliance with credit agreements; Provide high quality and efficient credit approval to Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Treasury while observing compliance of established credit policies and guidelines; Structure transactions and negotiate credit documentation including; credit agreements, amendments, ISDAs, and CSAs; Establish appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implement accurate adjustments throughout the client's credit life cycle; Develop, maintain, and manage internal relationships with business partners including Corporate and Investment Bankers, Sales & Trading, Risk Management, Syndications, and Legal; Participate in strategic projects to support business goals.

Responsibilities

Oversees and assesses the credit worthiness of borrowers based on due diligence findings, financial statement analysis, forecasting, analysis of company and industry risks, terms and conditions, and relationship profitability to provide high quality credit approval to Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Treasury

Exercises Delegated Approval Authority using sound judgment and expertise to make approval decisions for the business including new lending limits, structuring and negotiating deal terms, credit worthiness, annual reviews and renewals, risk ratings, and breach actions

Acts as a senior coverage team resource supporting ongoing credit matters and asset quality, maintaining adherence to the bank's risk appetite and risk strategies to mitigate losses while identifying opportunities to responsibly growing the loan portfolio

Leads new credit originations in coordination and collaboration with the coverage teams including Relationship Managers, Risk, Syndications, Treasury, and all other product partners

Negotiates and structures legal documentation related to loans and derivatives

Establishes appropriate internal risk ratings for clients and implements accurate adjustments throughout the client's credit life cycle

Trains, coaches, and mentors Credit Analysts and Associates

Required Qualifications

5+ years’ of experience in asset based and/or commercial lending

Experience in monitoring the credit health of asset based or commercial lending clients.

Strong knowledge and comprehension of loan and collateral documentation

Ability to accurately analyze borrower’s financial picture and deliver a comprehensive risk analysis to manager and risk officers

Confidence and ability to develop an independent viewpoint and present a business case to support conclusions

Excellent relationship management skills, experience working in a team environment, ability to help influence constituencies with diverse views towards consensus

Coaching and mentoring skills

Strong Microsoft Office Skills

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance

10+ years’ of experience in asset based and/or commercial lending

Pay Transparency details US - CA - Los Angeles - 333 S HOPE ST - BANK OF AMERICA PLAZA (CA9193) Pay and benefits information Pay range $99,000.00 - $225,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
