George Schmitt & Co., Inc. is a security printing and converting company located in Guilford, CT. This is a part time position (about 20 hours per week).
We are seeking an experienced person to do building maintenance as part of the engineering team In our Guilford facility. This is a job shop type of environment with broad in the day to day assignments. This job requires an energetic, responsible and mature individual. The successful applicant must have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
The Maintenance Manager is an integral part of a small technical team in a job shop environment with broad in the day to day assignments including machinery, support equipment and facility.
Duties include:
1) Change HVAC filters on all air handlers
2) Patch minor roof leaks
3) Clean Gutters
4) Clean loading dock gutters
5) Snow/Ice cleanup from stairs and walkway when not performed by contractor
6) Janitorial: Cleanup water inside building from leaking roof, plumbing, drains, bathrooms, etc
7) Interior building maintenance (lighting, plumbing, floor repair, repair doors, gates, ac units, etc)
8) HVAC front line assessment
9) Clean window AC units
10) Wire brush & paint air handler housing & exterior ducting for presses, Shipping & Finishing Dept.
11) Repair parts of the metal roof that’s rusting
12) Seal/caulk exterior window frames
13) Clean & paint AC condenser fan grills
14) Clean & paint main building steam pipe to & from the ink shed.
15) Clean & paint gas pipes on the roof
16) Repair overhead door
17) Repair heater pipe for the electrical room (leaking)
18) Cleanup building material from between north & south ground level air handlers
19) Hang and/or move lights (where electrical service already exists)
20) Must climb ladder
21) Retrieve material from offsite warehouse as needed
22) Use forklift for facility support as needed
23) Move machinery as needed
24) Move pallet racking and other factory items as needed.
25) Clean machinery as needed
26) Check boilers
27) Check air compressor
28) Add/replace air lines
29) Support production equipment & learn to troubleshoot as needed
30) Perform basic machine maintenance assessment and limited PM
31) Assist production department via nonproduction activities
32) Assist in machinery repair as needed
33) Assist in equipment rebuilding as needed
34) Maintain safe machine shop working environment
