Description Leidos is seeking a talented

DevOps Specialist

to join our C4ISR Solutions Operation team. In this role, you will be instrumental in modernizing various software systems by guiding the definition, implementation, and delivery of innovative programs. Your expertise in infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and software deployment will ensure efficiency across the entire software development lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to support multiple contracts, fostering personal growth and expanding career opportunities within Leidos. This position primarily requires on-site work but offers a hybrid work schedule with up to 25% of hours possible to work from home. Primary Responsibilities: Provide valuable insights and expertise to senior engineers, maintaining alignment with best practices while overseeing the automated deployment, roll-back, and monitoring of applications in development, testing, and production environments. Develop and implement automated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker/Podman, and Ansible. Ensure consistency across infrastructure, software, configurations, and interfaces under configuration control by applying your DevOps knowledge. Collaborate effectively within an Agile team, participating in daily scrums and engaging with teammates to achieve project goals. Troubleshoot and resolve installation, infrastructure, and system issues proactively. Independently identify technical risks, monitor them, and assist in their mitigation. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Must be a US Citizen with a current DoD Secret clearance and the capability to maintain it. In-depth knowledge of DevOps trends and technologies. Experience in designing, building, and deploying DevOps pipelines using GitLab CI. Familiarity with container technologies, like Docker or Podman, and container orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes. Understanding of basic networking protocols/functions (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS) and their operation within Kubernetes architecture. Experience with Linux/UNIX command line. Basic understanding of Agile methodologies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to create structured solutions from unstructured problems. A proactive self-starter capable of working independently while also possessing excellent communication skills for collaboration with software development teams, customers, and leadership. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities. Requires an active DoD Secret clearance with the potential for a Top Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: U.S. Citizen with a Top Secret clearance. Professional cybersecurity certification such as Security+ or equivalent. Proficiency in designing and implementing application deployment pipelines and developing software in containerized environments using Kubernetes and Docker. Experience with Kubernetes application deployment/management tools such as Helm or Kustomize. Full software lifecycle automation experience, including design, development, testing, and production deployment. Background in SCM processes, including release planning and managing software baselines. Experience with Agile teams, implementing continuous integration and delivery practices. Experience developing and deploying software in a DoD context that aligns with DoD security standards. Familiarity with USSTRATCOM ISPAN domain. At Leidos, we believe in transforming the status quo.
