On behalf of one of our customers, ClearanceJobs is seeking a classified systems Junior Network Administrator whose responsibilities include performing network implementation, maintenance, and upgrades while ensuring compliance with government security requirements. The selected candidate will support analyze design, specifications, and related documents. Perform general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Translate business requirements into telecommunications (LAN/CAN/WAN, voice and video) requirements, designs, and orders. Perform engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization. The ideal candidate will have network administration experience spanning an array of different platforms/systems and will take initiative in stakeholder collaboration to meet network system security requirements. Key responsibilities: Providing IT Support & Maintenance: Serve as the primary point of contact for IT issues, managing workstation setup, software configuration, user support, and network troubleshooting Cloud Environments: Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, including account provisioning, resource optimization, access control, and security posture monitoring. Design, implement, and manage secure and high-performance network infrastructure in cloud environments like AWS and Azure. Have expertise in cloud networking services, security protocols, and tools to ensure reliable connectivity for applications and services Cybersecurity: Work closely with the on-site cybersecurity team to ensure systems and networks remain secure and compliant with policies, and align with evolving security standards System Configuration & Automation: Implement and manage tools for system configuration, patching, logging, and monitoring to ensure high availability and performance of computing resources Support Classified Environments: Assist with maintaining secure systems in classified environments in accordance with applicable DoD and company policies, ensuring separation and data integrity across domains Required Qualifications: Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience in network administration/engineering CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or equivalent) in secure environments Strong working knowledge of Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and common enterprise IT tools – can install system packages, navigate files/stem, run scripts/executables, understand stdout/stderr, understand systems services Enterprise in Cisco, Microsoft, Juniper, TCP/IP, and other LAN/WAN networking concepts Experience collaborating with cybersecurity teams with security compliance requirements Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a highly technical environment Preferred Qualifications: Associate-level Cisco network and security platform and component design support (routing, switching, firewall, 802.1x, NAC, MAB) Implementation of network Quality of Service (QoS) policies Use of SMB protocols to allow advancement of storage technologies Configuring and validation of RDMA technologies Experience working on DoD programs Integrate hardware and software to meet ISO 9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations Resolve complex network problems, operate network analyzers. WAN test equipment and network simulators Oversee the support of all classified network equipment and brief complex problems to non-technical leaders Develop designs of the organization’s network and mission architecture Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice of IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT)
