Job Description

The Food and Beverage Coordinator is the administrative backbone of all Food and Beverage for Fairmont Hotels in Hawai'i and reports to Fairmont Orchids Director of Food and Beverage. This position supports the department in all their administrative needs, oversees the overall office organization, assists with menu designs, training processes, analyzing data, large party reservations for restaurant (Private Dining Experiences in Brown’s Beach House) and all relevant departments in ensuring compliance with corporate standards.

What you will be doing:

Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service.

Coordinating and supporting all aspects of Food and Beverage activities, including taking reservations, coordinating and reserving private bookings in outlets, etc.

Process booking contracts and distribute them through proper channels internally as required.

Maintain an accurate supply of all Food and Beverage Supplies

Arrange and conduct walk throughs of restaurant areas as needed

Coordinate with other departments within the hotels to ensure the distribution of pertinent information, i.e., booking reservations, contracts, order forms, memos, etc., and maintain an orderly working environment.

Provide administrative support, i.e., processing of invoices, maintain restaurant bookings/activities, ordering supplies

Prepare collateral and amenities as requested by the Food and Beverage Director.

Actively participate in industry and hotel training programs.

Be an effective team player within the Food and Beverage team of Fairmont Hotels Hawai'i and with other team members in Catering and Conventions, Guest Services, Sales & Marketing, and other key areas within the hotel and the region.

Actively seek opportunities to improve systems and procedures.

Display a willingness to manage additional responsibilities and duties as required.

Attend all Food and Beverage meetings and other meetings as required.

Assist with all departmental recruitment seeking

Participate in at least one hotel committee (e.g., Health & Safety Committee)

Balance operational, administrative, and Colleague needs

Follow departmental policies and procedures, and all safety policies.

Qualifications: Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Proactive and highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple functions and projects while meeting deadlines

Articulate, self-motivated, energetic, and positive team player

Confident, well-groomed, pleasant telephone and personal disposition

Enjoys challenges, works well under time pressure, thinks ahead, and is highly committed to the job

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must be able to utilize computer skills to format menus.

Ability to communicate assignment of duties and schedules.

Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.

Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations.

Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages.

Knowledge of food service techniques and cost controls such as manpower, productivity, food cost and other expenses.

Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statues and their comparable state and local laws (where applicable). Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA and NLRA.

Additional Information

Hourly Rate:

$29.77 USD

Visa Requirements:

Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
