The Michigan Milk Producers Association is on the lookout for a skilled
Maintenance Technician for 3rd Shift
to enhance the efficiency of our production facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining vital production equipment and systems, minimizing downtime while upholding safety and quality standards. Established in 1916, the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) is a dairy farmer-owned cooperative and dairy processor, proudly ranking as the 10th largest dairy cooperative in the U.S. We serve dedicated dairy farmers throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana, employing approximately 625 talented individuals. Our facilities include the Middlebury Cheese Company in Indiana, Superior Dairy in Ohio, and two state-of-the-art SQF Level 3 dairy ingredient plants in Michigan, producing high-quality products such as fluid milk, cheese, ultra-filtered milk, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream, and condensed skim milk. Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pumps and motors. Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of valves. Manage variable speed drive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Oversee fan and blower maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Monitor steam boiler controls and maintain logs. Conduct maintenance and monitoring of air compressor systems. Monitor ammonia systems. Operate, maintain, and monitor glycol systems. Utilize basic troubleshooting skills for equipment repairs. Learn about Pasteurizer systems maintenance and repair. Understand and implement OSHA safe work practices. Comprehend liquid flow dynamics in process piping. While this list is extensive, it is not comprehensive. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to ensure the proper maintenance of our production equipment, structures, and utilities. Preferred but Not Required: Heat exchanger (Plate, Shell/Tube, Triple Tube, etc.) maintenance and repair. Hot water system operation, maintenance, and monitoring. Ice builder operation, maintenance, and monitoring. Separator and related systems maintenance and repair. Homogenizer pump maintenance and repair. Experience in HVAC PM, CM, and monitoring, with compliance awareness for HACCP, USDA, FDA, SQF, MDA, GMP, and Food Safety Standards. Qualifications: Possess a journeyman card or have equivalent manufacturing experience of four (4) years. Ability to obtain an industrial lift truck operator permit. High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass a drug test and background check. Willingness to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of our 24/7 operation. Why Join Us:
