Cross Domain Solution (CDS) Ruleset Subject Matter Expert (SME) Senior-Level | $150,000–$172,000 | Orlando, FL | Active Secret Clearance Required (TS/SCI and SAP/SAR Preferred) Shape the digital battlespace—develop and secure cross-domain data transfer systems that power next-generation distributed training for the U.S. Air Force. A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do Develop, test, and validate English Language Rule Plans (ELRPs) and Rulesets for CAF Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) training systems. Design and refine cross-domain rulesets for Serco’s SILENTWIRE solution integrated with Everfox’s SimShield Guard, ensuring compliance with NSA and CAF DMO data transfer requirements. Collaborate with Air Combat SMEs, simulator engineers, and DMO stakeholders to define secure, mission-relevant data exchange parameters. Interpret Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and implement data-handling logic that protects classified mission information while enabling realistic distributed training. Support security approval activities, cross-domain test events, and configuration control boards. Participate in Ruleset Working Groups (RWGs) and prepare technical documentation, test reports, and white papers for program and government review. Provide technical consultation on CDS engineering improvements, ensuring alignment between operational training needs and security requirements. Apply Modeling & Simulation (M&S) methodologies to assess the performance, fidelity, and impact of CDS rule configurations. Conduct limited travel (up to 10%) for cross-domain integration testing and DMO exercises. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship Active DoD Secret Clearance (with ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP/SAR) Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Computer Science, Modeling & Simulation, Physics, Math, Systems Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering) 12 years of experience with Bachelor’s 10 years with Master’s 6 years with PhD Experience with cross-domain or data transfer systems and understanding of security guard technologies Familiarity with Modeling and Simulation (M&S) frameworks, system modeling, and data flow architecture Strong understanding of air combat operations, tactics, and distributed mission training environments Ability to document complex technical logic, workflows, and security rationale clearly and effectively Must hold or obtain a DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+, CySA+, or CISSP) within six months Preferred Qualifications Air combat or flight operations background (e.g., former fighter pilot, WSO, CSO, or pilot instructor) highly desired Experience with Computer Generated Forces (CGF) tools such as: Combat Environment Server (CES) Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE) Familiarity with Serco SILENTWIRE and Everfox SimShield Guard integration or other cross-domain security solutions Experience developing Cross Domain Solution (CDS) rulesets for training or operational use cases Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk.
