Position Summary:

Must have demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, repairing, & maintaining CNC equipment. Must have strong problem-solving skills and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prioritizes, assigns, & follows up on daily work orders, & balances emergency calls vs. planned PMs

Leads shift huddles; communicates equipment status, hazards, & downtime recovery plans

Coaches, trains, & evaluates technicians; provides input on hiring, scheduling, & performance

Ensures accurate CMMS use (work orders, labor time, parts, failure codes)

Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service

Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

Detects faulty operations, defective material and reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor

Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine

Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts

Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery

Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment

Repairs, builds, and maintains manufacturing equipment and plant facilities

Works with vendors and part suppliers on needed equipment and parts including estimates and quotes

Moves machinery within plant, pre-plans layout, utility, and safety requirements and rigging

Prioritizes repairs and maintenance to support production

Trains operators in preventative maintenance

Assures cleanliness of working areas

Rotates on-call maintenance schedule

Trouble shoots machinery or equipment issues

Changes light fixtures when necessary

Installs air condition units

Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment

Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment

Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers

Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricated machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

6+ years of industrial maintenance experience (precision manufacturing ), including CNC troubleshooting; 1-2 years in a lead or mentoring role.

Must be highly proficient with maintenance on 3, 4 & 5 Axis Mills and Lathes. (Okuma and Haas mostly)

High school degree or equivalent, plus specialized training; technical certificate or AAS in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics

Technical Skills:

Excellent attention to detail

Knowledge in a variety of mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines

Knowledge of location and proper use of maintenance/facilities, tooling, supplies and equipment

Able to read and interpret schematics and blueprints

Comfortable operating heavy equipment and power tools

Forklift certification

Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)

Problem solving abilities

Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc.

Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player

Understand and obey safety requirements

Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs or more

Frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl

Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
