Linux Systems Engineer with Security Clearance

As a Linux Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared Linux Engineer joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Arnold, MO or Springfield, VA. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops technical solutions for the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
• Troubleshoots complex system hardware and software issues
• Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software
• Performs advanced software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
• Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels
• Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
• Leads efforts to ensure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups archive operations
• Conducts advanced audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and guidelines
• Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users
• Evaluates existing systems and plans long-term strategies
• May coach and provide guidance to less experience professionals
• Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
• Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS,
LDAP, ICMP, ssh and SNMP • Skilled in system administration tasks such as file system, network, and account troubleshooting • Responsible for provisioning virtual and physical servers or workstations • Administering systems using automation and scripting tools to include CLI, Ansible, or various coding languages • Knowledge of repository management practices, patch administration, and vulnerability remediation • May serve as a team or task lead Education and Experience: • Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree • 5+ years of related experience as a Linux Administrator • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree Recommended Skills and Abilities: • Security + Certification • Network + Certification • Linux + Certification • Additional Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE and LPIC) desired
