Role Overview The Classified Cyber Security Manager / Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) leads a team of 10 Information System Security Officers (ISSO) within the RMS classified cybersecurity group, located in Huntsville, AL. The position supports multiple DoD programs and ensures compliance through the application of NISPOM, DoD 8500 series, NIST, CNSSI, and other guidance.

Responsibilities

Oversee and direct day‑to‑day information system security operations, providing expert guidance.

Attract, retain, and develop top cyber talent to maintain a highly skilled classified team.

Coordinate and manage interactions with government authorization authorities to maintain 100% active Authorization to Operate status.

Develop and implement government‑approved information security procedures and system security plans for networked and standalone classified computer systems.

Communicate, implement, and manage a formal Information Security / Information Systems Security Program together with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Program Management.

Conduct risk assessments on cybersecurity architecture and perform comprehensive investigations of computer security incidents in collaboration with external agencies.

Ensure configuration management for security‑relevant IS software, hardware, firmware, and system documentation.

Assist in security education and training, and in investigations of violations and incidents.

Handle mission requirements that may require unpredictable work hours or schedules.

Operate in a high‑pace environment with evolving technical implementation requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum Secret Security Clearance.

DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level II certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CASP, SecurityX, GSLC, CAP).

Proven ability to motivate, influence, and manage personnel with classified cyber security skills.

SME level experience with authorization package submission tools (e.g., eMASS, XACTA) leading to Authorizations to Operate (ATO).

Analytical skills to resolve policy and procedural discrepancies.

Experience driving the RMF process and performing risk and vulnerability assessments per DCSA, DAAG, and NISPOM.

Desired Skills

Experience with industry‑standard Information Assurance tools for DCSA authorization (e.g., Tenable, Trellix, Splunk).

Agile and DevSecOps concepts and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Docker, Ansible, Git).

Knowledge of NISPOM, DAAG, JSIG, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800‑37, and NIST SP 800‑53.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 12 years of experience, or 10 years with a related Master’s degree.

Pay Information Annual base salary for this position varies by location (e.g., $134,000–$236,325 in certain states; $154,100–$267,145 in major metropolitan areas). Pay rate is a general guideline and may consider responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions.

Work Schedule Lockheed Martin offers a variety of alternate work schedules, including compressed and flexible arrangements, beyond standard 40‑hour weeks. Paid Time Off is available in addition to the schedule variation.
