Qualifications
1+ years experience with Ruby on Rails
Active DHS USCIS Public Trust Clearance
Ability to obtain a public trust
Interest in working in a social team
Mission focused and a self‑starter/independent and scrappy
Someone who enjoys less formality and more freedom
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Demonstrate sharp, analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
1+ years of experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices
1+ years of experience with building software using agile methods
1+ years of experience with database engineering, and manipulating relational and NOSQL databases
1+ years of experience with automating tests for determining quality, security, performance and usability of a system.
Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, EKS, and Docker
Experience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull‑requests
Experience working in HCD, Agile and DevSecOps environments
Preferred Skills / Attributes
Experience in paired programming and Extreme Programming
Willing to learn Ruby and associated frameworks (e.g. Ruby on Rails)
Experience Lean Design, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
A passion to contribute to the full stack – the front‑end, back‑end and anything in‑between (middleware or otherwise).
About Steampunk Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $160,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
