Staff Analyst I (TA): $73,571 – $87,099 (New Hire Rate: $63,972) Staff Analyst II (TA): $85,425 – $95,142 (New Hire Rate: $74,284) Associate Staff Analyst (TA): $96,568 – $125,031 (New Hire Rate: $83,971) Staff Analyst I (OA): $71,203 – $84,295 Staff Analyst II (OA): $82,673 – $92,077 Associate Staff Analyst (OA): $93,453 – $121,044 TA employees must be permanent in the Staff Analyst, Associate Staff Analyst title to be considered. Summary

The Analyst will support monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects led by NYCT Department of Security, and develop data‑driven strategies to improve efficiency, performance, and fare payment initiatives. Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing strategies to combat vandalism and fare evasion. Provide administrative support for the Video Unit and Security Incident Group. Conduct data collection, field observation, research, and modeling to inform decision‑making. Engage with clients at all levels of NYCT, from senior leadership to frontline employees. Interact with internal users including operational managers, schedulers, and senior management to define and execute project work. Perform financial analysis and business process reviews for high‑profile initiatives. Support interdepartmental and interagency working groups on strategic initiatives. Collect, prepare, and disseminate security related information and documentation. Utilize logistical skills for tactical deployment of enforcement teams. Work mandatory overtime and flexible hours as needed. Additional Responsibilities

Conduct financial analysis and business process reviews supporting NYCT executive leadership. Support departmental and interagency working groups for reshaping the Department of Security. Conduct research and project management for critical decisions impacting MTA cost structure and productivity. Support interagency working groups to execute strategic initiatives for sustainable organization. Timely collection and dissemination of security information/documentation. Collecting, preparing, and analyzing data for studies and reports. Desired Skills

Excellent quantitative, analytical, project management, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Excel modeling, SQL, and dashboard development. Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Strong interpersonal skills and history of collaboration. Capable of building a strong network and influencing decision makers. Ability to prioritize competing needs and manage multiple projects. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python. Knowledge of emerging technologies for automated data collection and spatial analysis. Education and Experience

Associate Staff Analyst: Master’s degree + 1 year professional experience OR baccalaureate degree + 3 years experience OR associate degree + 5 years experience OR high school diploma + 7 years experience. Staff Analyst I & II: Master’s degree + 0 years experience OR baccalaureate degree + 2 years experience OR associate degree + 4 years experience OR high school diploma + 6 years experience. Individuals must have at least one additional year of professional experience for Assignment Level II. Special Note

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, additional one year of experience is required. Other Information
