Program Director (Community Engagement & Initiatives)
Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Director to join the Community Pride team. The Director will lead efforts to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty through comprehensive, on‑the‑ground programming that expands opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.
Community Pride is HCZ’s long-standing program working with tenant groups, block associations, faith-based institutions, and local businesses to address neighborhood needs. The program provides resources and connections to address housing insecurity, safety, and legal concerns, and supports residents as they develop into effective leaders who advocate for themselves and their families. The Program Director will build relationships with families and residents near the St. Nicholas Housing Development, including our state‑of‑the‑art school and community center opened in 2013.
We are seeking an experienced Program Director who can drive daily operations, meet short‑term goals, ensure long‑term sustainability, manage client relationships, and enhance HCZ’s presence in the Harlem community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for HCZ’s mission, respect for the culture of Harlem residents, and the ability to create and implement systems to increase productivity and impact. The Program Director reports to the Managing Director of Community and Family Engagement.
