Plant General Manager – Cleveland, TN

Base Pay Range $75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

About Us Sky Blue Chemical is a Utah-based manufacturer of high-quality automotive and industrial chemical products. As we expand operations with our first plant in the Chattanooga, TN area, we are seeking an experienced and dependable Plant Manager to lead all aspects of the facility. This is a pivotal role that requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to coordinate seamlessly with our Utah-based headquarters.

Position Overview The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all plant operations, including production, labor management, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, inventory control, blending, quality control testing, and equipment maintenance. The position requires a hands‑on leader who can ensure operational efficiency, maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, and build a reliable workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Direct and manage all daily operations of the Cleveland plant

Oversee and manage all plant labor, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and terminations

Supervise shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory processes

Manage blending, packaging, and quality control testing to ensure product quality and consistency

Maintain plant equipment and ensure safe and efficient operation of forklifts, mixers, pumps, and related machinery

Monitor plant performance metrics and implement process improvements

Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards

Serve as the primary liaison with Utah-based operations, accounting, and executive teams

Utilize NetSuite ERP system for order processing, reporting, and inventory management

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience in manufacturing, production, or chemical operations

Strong knowledge of logistics, shipping/receiving, and inventory management

ERP system experience required (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)

Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a workforce

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to oversee plant equipment maintenance

Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in chemical manufacturing or related industry

Bachelor's Degree Preferred (Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or Business Management)

Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)

Experience starting up or scaling plant operations
