Job Description
As a U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy Vice President, you will be responsible for managing certain programs within the JPMC U.S. Medical Plan, evaluating strategic opportunities in the medical space, and acting as the Benefits representative in the firm’s M&A transactions.
The JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) benefits program is one of the largest in the United States. Our comprehensive programs include a range of healthcare and insurance offerings designed to support the well‑being of our employees and their families.
The U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team evaluates, manages and implements changes to various benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long‑term disability). The team monitors plan performance, regulations and marketplace trends. The medical plan and wellness program serves over 180,000 U.S. employees.
This full‑time role is based in Jersey City, NJ.
Job Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day operations of certain programs within the JPMC U.S. Medical Plan, including vendor management, program administration, performance monitoring, digital/customer experience, member communications, and escalated issues.
Evaluate strategic opportunities in the medical space (improve quality of care, access, member experience), conduct research, collaborate with stakeholders, define success measures, and prepare materials for senior management review.
Serve as the Benefits representative in the firm’s M&A transactions, conduct due diligence and develop the benefits strategy for specific transactions.
Monitor healthcare trends, regulations and marketplace developments.
Partner with internal stakeholders including benefits delivery, customer service, wellness, communications, HR technology, IT security, legal, sourcing, product and Employee Experience.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Understanding of the healthcare marketplace and experience in vendor management.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.
Ability to multi‑task, work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Willingness and ability to innovate to drive fresh, unique approaches and solutions.
Experience working in a strategic, analytical or metric‑driven environment.
Solid knowledge of standard desktop applications such as MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel).
Minimum 10 years in corporate benefits, benefits consulting or health plan/health insurance field.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Ideal to have large firm experience (50,000+ employees).
