Position Summary The Director of Medical Product Procurement & Supply Chain Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement, inventory control, vendor management, and contract negotiations for medical devices and related products. This role ensures that the organization maintains a reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply chain to support clinical operations across all sites. The Director will leverage deep industry knowledge of medical devices, proven leadership in supply chain strategy, pricing negotiation and expertise in implementing inventory management systems to drive operational efficiency, cost savings, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Supply Chain Management

Develop and execute procurement strategies for medical devices, equipment, and consumables in alignment with corporate, operational and clinical needs.

Oversee sourcing, purchasing, and supply planning to ensure timely and effective availability of critical medical products.

Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices in medical device procurement for a multi-site multi-disciplinary medical enterprise.

Acquisitions

Lead supply chain due diligence during acquisitions, including vendor contract evaluation, pricing analysis, and integration of new sites into existing vendor agreements.

Transition of new sites to enterprise‑standard vendors and contracts, ensuring alignment with standard agreements.

Coordinate with operations, finance, and clinical teams to ensure smooth supply chain integration with minimal disruption to patient care.

Inventory Management

Lead the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of enterprise‑wide inventory management systems.

Establish and monitor inventory control processes to minimize waste, prevent stockouts, and reduce inventory carrying costs.

Analyze inventory data to forecast demand, optimize par levels, and improve supply chain performance.

Design and implement CQI program and associated initiatives.

Vendor & Contract Management

Identify, qualify, and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness.

Lead contract negotiations with vendors and service providers, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Develop vendor scorecards and performance monitoring systems.

Conduct quarterly business reviews with relevant vendors.

Financial Oversight & Reporting

Manage procurement budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.

Provide regular reports on procurement performance, vendor compliance, and inventory metrics to executive leadership.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Lead and mentor procurement, inventory, and materials management personnel.

Collaborate with clinical, operations, and finance teams to align procurement decisions with organizational goals.

Drive change management for system implementations.

Requirements Qualifications Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s degree).

Minimum 3-5 years of procurement and supply chain experience in the medical device industry or related healthcare field.

Proven track record in implementing and managing inventory management systems.

Strong experience in vendor relationship management and contract negotiations.

Knowledge of FDA regulations, ISO standards, and medical device compliance requirements.
