Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to lead our technology team and support our rapid growth. Technology is at the core of Allara’s mission to provide personalized care for women, and this leader will be responsible for scaling the engineering function to meet the evolving needs of our organization and patients.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll collaborate with key stakeholders across the company to drive the development of Allara’s platform, ensuring it continues to meet the high standards of reliability, security, and usability required for healthcare. You’ll engage closely with our user base to gather feedback, understand patient and provider workflows, and refine the long-term technical roadmap based on these insights.
We need someone who can jump in and contribute immediately, not just lead from above, but roll up their sleeves and make an impact from day one. The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineering leader who is also an excellent team builder, communicator, and hands-on problem-solver driven to build a high-performing team.
Location: Hybrid (NYC). We value in-person collaboration and aim for at least three days per week in our NYC office, with flexibility as needed.

Required Qualifications
People Leadership: Proven track record of building and scaling engineering teams from small to mid-size (10-50+ people) while directly managing engineering functions
Hands-on Technical Leadership: Ability to contribute technically while leading; we need someone who can code, architect, and solve complex problems directly alongside a growing team
Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work closely with clinical, operations, and business teams beyond traditional product/engineering partnerships
Process: Track record implementing right-sized process to lead high-output teams
Culture: Embraces a growth mindset and wants to be part of a world-class team
