Job Summary Reporting to the VP Technical Accounting SEC Reporting and Global SOX Compliance, the Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting oversees consolidation, period‑end journal entries, general ledger, accounts payable and accruals, fixed assets, foreign entities books of account, and internal management reporting. Design operating procedures that meet audit standards and improve efficiency, ensure integration of data into systems, drive accuracy of financial reporting, lead annual audits, quarterly reviews and special projects, and manage personnel to operate the function efficiently.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Direct, manage and own the entire month, quarter and year‑end closing process.
Prepare financials, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit schedules; analyze financial data and compare to third‑party information, budgets, or actual results; research balance sheet variances.
Design and implement business processes to ensure efficiency and compliance; work with finance and accounting departments reviewing new accounting programs and resolve accounting issues.
Review and approve revenue journal entries and related reconciliations.
Perform general accounting and consolidation (GL, prepaids, accruals, cash, fixed assets, key balance sheet reserves, roll‑forwards, account reconciliations).
Manage accounts payable reconciliation process and provide training to ensure accuracy.
Review monthly consolidated financial statements; conduct variance analysis and investigate differences.
Communicate accounting results by explaining variances, anomalies, and accounting influences on future proposals.
Provide supervision and development opportunities for the team; hire, train, mentor, assign duties, and ensure diversity awareness.
Prepare financial information in accordance with GAAP; research regulatory changes and ensure compliance.
Support external reporting (10‑Q, 10‑K) and engage with external auditors as needed.
Drive automation of manual processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and document policies and procedures; participate in SOX (404) projects.
Qualifications Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
10‑15 years of experience in finance and accounting.
CPA required; Big 4 and industry experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Attention to detail.
Deep knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Ability to interact with all levels of management.
Experience analyzing large amounts of financial data.
Presentation skills; ability to present financial data clearly.
Strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience with SAP required.
Knowledge of Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements a plus.
Hi‑tech industry experience preferred.
Salary Range:
$230,000 – $262,000 per year. Compensation commensurate with location, level, education, training and experience, and may include bonus and equity award programs.
