Legal Specialist I/II - Data Integrity Team

THE POSITION
The Washington County District Attorney's Office is currently seeking a Legal Specialist I/II to join their Criminal Prosecution Data Integrity team! The DI team supports the Criminal Prosecution Program by retrieving case reports, processing court orders, updating the DA’s case‑management system after appearances, and managing case notifications from courts, law enforcement, defense attorneys, and other public entities. Team members also virtually attend some court appearances to enter data contemporaneously.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate prioritizes detail and understands that a high level of accuracy is essential for this high‑volume workload. They can operate in an extremely fast‑paced environment, multitask, and re‑prioritize work based on changing deadlines. Knowledge of the legal field, criminal justice, or child support systems is a plus.

Bilingual Positions
– Designated bilingual positions require proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing) and a minimum of five percent reimbursement or a flat rate of $75 per pay period. Successful applicants must communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Legal Specialist I Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; and three (3) years of experience providing administrative or clerical support.
A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a related field or a paralegal certificate may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
Legal Specialist II Minimum Qualifications – Criminal Prosecution
High school diploma or equivalent; and four (4) years of administrative or clerical experience, with at least two (2) years in a legal support role in a law office or in an office environment focused on legal issues; or four (4) years of experience with at least one (1) year in a prosecutor’s office.
A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a related field or a paralegal certificate may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT AND PROGRAM SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Background Investigation
– Successful candidates must pass a criminal history background investigation.
