Senior Citrix Systems Administrator

Overview GovCIO is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Citrix Systems Administrator. In this pivotal role, you will manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers in a dynamic customer environment. This position is fully remote but operate in a mixed environment located in Radford, VA. Responsibilities As a Senior Citrix Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Windows team within a mixed and expanding environment of Windows 2019 and Windows 2022. You will collaborate closely with the Windows team to: Manage, maintain, and deploy servers, ensuring optimal performance and security. Plan, execute, and implement new system hardware and software solutions. Create and maintain comprehensive technical instructions, operating procedures, and policies. Monitor system performance, hardening servers, and reporting on security and operational status. Identify issues through utilization reports and recommend corrective actions and improvements to enterprise systems. Support the lifecycle of vendor equipment in the datacenter, including firmware version control and preventive maintenance. Demonstrate and implement innovative technologies aimed at enhancing efficiencies in the current environment. Qualifications We are looking for candidates with: A high school diploma with 6 - 9 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience. Current Secret security clearance. CompTIA Security+ and a relevant Computing Environment (CE) Certification (e.g., MCSE, Server+, CCNA, RedHat, Palo, etc., flexible 30 days after start). A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator or Engineer with expertise in Citrix technologies like XenApp, NetScaler Gateway, Citrix StoreFront, and Citrix Director. 3+ years of experience in PowerShell automation. 3+ years managing complex applications and websites (IIS, Apache, etc.). 3+ years in complex networking environments with senior-level knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP). Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong ability to collaborate effectively with team members. PENDING CONTRACT AWARD Preferred Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. 3+ years supporting cybersecurity patch management and relevant security compliance. Experience managing enterprise-level Active Directory structures for 3 or more years. Experience with complex MS Group Policy creation and maintenance for at least 3 years. 3+ years of experience with Standard Operating Procedures for disaster recovery and common problem resolution. 3+ years of configuration and maintenance experience with services such as DNS, SFTP, SMTP, and NTP.
