Save Job

At the Old Baldy Foundation, we are dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Old Baldy Lighthouse and sharing its story with visitors from near and far. Our mission is supported by a vibrant community of volunteers who play a crucial role in keeping our operations running smoothly. Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor with a passion for history and community service, we welcome your involvement! As an event volunteer, you may help us with directing traffic for events, handing out candy or prizes to kids, setting up or taking down decorations, or any other miscellaneous tasks needed for our events to run smoothly! Some of the programs we put on include After Dark, a Halloween night climb of the lighthouse; Luminary Night, a magical holiday evening with hundreds of glowing luminaries across the lighthouse grounds; and our Annual Duck Race, a rubber duck race fundraiser event. We ask that our event volunteers commit to one event per year to remain an active volunteer. There is no training needed prior to working an event. We continuously work to make sure that our volunteers feel appreciated and valued as a part of our team, and we hope that you will find the Old Baldy Foundation to be a wonderful place to volunteer! Our active volunteers receive perks like a discount in our gift shop and a free tour of the island with our educator. If you have any questions or need more information, please don't hesitate to reach out by phone or email!
