This role can be based out of any of our nuclear office locations, including but not limited to:
Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta)
Overland Park, KS
Birmingham, AL
Naperville, IL
Remote – considered for candidates with 10+ years in nuclear design
Responsibilities
Lead a dynamic team, balancing priorities, ensuring quality, and meeting deadlines while driving project success.
Strategic impact: Power uprates are rapidly becoming a cornerstone of U.S. energy policy; this role places you at the center of that transformation.
Career springboard: Position you to transition into future nuclear projects, such as advanced and small modular reactors, as the industry shifts toward new reactors.
Unit leadership & management: Serve as the focal point for unit contact with Management, Project Managers, and other internal constituents; assign work, approve timesheets, conduct performance appraisals, and recruit new employees.
Quality control & technical oversight: Maintain unit quality standards; certify design documents in accordance with client and code requirements.
Project management & client relations: Ensure unit meets budget and schedule; approve engineering documents; support marketing of unit expertise.
Staff development & performance: Provide coaching and promote professional development, including certifications and training.
Administrative support: Support company policies, procedures, and staffing plans.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum of 6 years of design engineering experience in power generation or nuclear power, with at least 2 years in a group lead or supervisory role.
Professional Engineering License is required.
Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style.
Proven experience with a high level of decision‑making, directing and overseeing routine and advanced technical work performed by others.
Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
Required to travel up to 15‑25% of the time to client sites.
Pay Range USD $130,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year.
