Join Talos Mission Solutions as a Systems Engineer V and lead systems engineering for high-assurance devices that anchor trust within hyperscale cloud environments. You'll own the full lifecycle—from requirements development and traceability through verification, validation, and formal government certification (SRR/PDR/CDR). Guide architectures spanning encryption, key management, FPGAs, and ASICs with mission-grade rigor. This role is for seasoned systems engineers who thrive in structured, compliance-heavy environments and excel at technical leadership.

What You'll Do • Requirements & Architecture: Develop and manage system requirements for high-assurance devices; guide architecture development and trade studies across encryption, key management, FPGAs, and ASICs • Traceability & Verification: Own requirement traceability matrices, verification plans, and validation methodologies; develop robust test methods aligned to government standards • Certification Leadership: Prepare and lead technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) following government CDRLs/DIDs; support formal certification processes and compliance frameworks • Risk Assessment: Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and conduct rigorous trade studies on complex subsystems • Technical Authority: Serve as subject matter expert on high-assurance device design; mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams Who You Are
Required: • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph capability + US citizenship • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent discipline • 10+ years of professional systems engineering experience including program execution and DOD acquisition processes • Demonstrated experience with high-assurance device design and government certification processes • Strong understanding of cryptologic standards (MACsec, IPsec) and encryption device architecture • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to work in classified environments • Experience developing system requirements, traceability matrices, and verification/validation plans
Preferred: • Experience with FPGA or ASIC architecture and design • Background in software, hardware, or embedded systems engineering • Familiarity with government certification frameworks (EAL, FIPS, etc.) • Track record leading formal technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) • Experience with secure device development lifecycle Compensation & Total Rewards
Salary: $275,000–$315,000 (based on experience and clearance level)
