Madden Industrial Craftsmen is hiring a Millwright/Fabricator to join our clients team in Portland, OR. This hands-on role combines shop fabrication with occasional field installation and repair throughout Oregon. Youll work on a wide range of industrial equipment ? from conveyors and gates to structural steel ? performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication with precision and safety at the forefront.
Pay: $30?$36/hr DOE + additional % for field work Schedule: Monday?Friday, Day Shift (some travel required for field projects)
Key Responsibilities
Perform fabrication and millwright duties in both shop and field environments.
Maintain, repair, and install mechanical equipment such as conveyors, dam gates, and structural steel components.
Align bearings, pulleys, shafts, idlers, and screens to precise tolerances.
Conduct preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and repairs on a range of industrial systems.
Perform FCAW and SMAW welding in both shop and field conditions.
Work safely at heights and in diverse environments ? from clean facilities to waste-handling sites.
Travel to customer sites by company vehicle or commercial flight when needed.
Accurately complete required documentation for repairs, maintenance, and installations.
Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors, and crew members to ensure smooth project execution.
What You Bring
Proven hands-on experience in millwright work, fabrication, or mechanical maintenance (no degree required).
Skilled in FCAW and SMAW welding (ability to pass a 3G weld test ).
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial equipment installation and alignment.
Proficient in using shop tools, rigging equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
Dependable, safety-focused, and able to work both independently and with a team.
Physically capable of standing, crawling, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel for field projects.
Maybe You Have:
Experience performing field installations across industrial or manufacturing sites.
Familiarity with rigging and hoisting practices for heavy equipment.
Background in pump, motor, or conveyor alignment and repair.
A knack for solving on-site challenges and improving installation processes.
Work Environment
This role is primarily based in a shop environment with periodic travel across Oregon for field assignments. Work may involve heights, confined spaces, and varying environmental conditions. PPE must be always worn.
